Traditional Arnhem Land Yidaki

I respectfully acknowledge the Sovereign Custodians throughout the land and water where my spirit takes me. I pay my respects to the Elders of the past, the present and the future for they hold the memories, the Traditions, the Culture and the hopes of Aboriginal Australia. We must always remember that beneath the asphalt and the concrete lies our beautiful Mother Earth for all to nurture and protect.

Traditional Yidaki

RaD Didgeridoos now have stock of new Traditional Arnhem Land Yidaki (Didgeridoo, Didjeridu).  Yiḏaki are didjeridus that are specific to North East Arnhem land in Australia’s Northern Territory, where the instrument originates. The term yiḏaki is used in Yolŋu (the nation of North East Arnhem land Aboriginal people) languages as the generic name for the didjeridu. The name yiḏaki is most correctly used for instruments from this region that have been solely made and decorated by Yolŋu people.
